Taste Cumbria food festival comes to Ulverston

A FOOD festival usually held in west Cumbria is branching out and heading to Ulverston.

The Taste Cumbria festival is in the early stages of planning an appearance in Ulverston this April.

Organisers of the festival approached mayor Judith Pickthall and she said they were keen to have a festival in the area to match the successful Cockermouth event that brings in 30,000 people to the town.

This brand new Taste Cumbria food festival will be taking over the streets of Ulverston in South Lakeland.

Over the course of the weekend, Ulverston’s town centre will be transformed by over 60 stalls selling the best food and drink Cumbria has to offer.

The popular cookery demo stage from the Cockermouth food festival will be making an appearance, allowing renowned local chefs to run informal demonstrations and master classes throughout the event. A wide selection of family entertainment and activities is planned across the town; for the adults amongst us, local pubs and breweries are teaming up to showcase and celebrate local ales and beers.

  • The Ulverston Food Festival is taking place throughout the day and evening over the weekend of the 24th and 25th May.
