ULVERSTON town councillors have backed the demolition of a house next to the canal.
The application for full planning permission to knock down Meadow
Cottage and build a replacement was submitted by Russell Jackson.
Town councillors agreed unanimously that they should offer no objections to South Lakeland District Council planning committee.
They also backed plans from David Gillam for
alterations and change of use at 68 Market Street in Ulverston from a dwelling to one retail unit and one self-contained flat and an application from Wendy Barry for change of use and internal alterations at 10 King Street from an off-licence to a tapas bar.
Councillor Margaret Hornby said: “This is a shop that hasn’t been used for a long time.”
They also agreed that no objections should be sent about applications for a satellite dish on a chimney stack on the Old Friends Inn on Soutergate and a garage extension at Firgarth, King’s Road.
