YEAR-ON-YEAR figures have shown that crime and anti-social behaviour has fallen in a South Lakes town.

A report given to town councillors by Sergeant Rupert Johnson, of Ulverston police, painted a picture of falling crime in Ulverston.

Over June, crimes reported in the town have fallen from 135 from 160 compared to the same period in 2016.

Likewise, reports of anti-social behaviour have fallen, with 65 incidents reported during the month, compared to 84 last year.

Sgt Johnson added that during the weekend's Another Fine Fest, there had only been one arrest, for drunk and disorderly behaviour.
