REPAIR work has finished on a burst pipe which caused some households in Ulverston to be without water.

United Utilities confirmed that a leak at Beck Side Farm in Pennington caused residents to have no water or poor water pressure.

The Gas Board arrived earlier this morning and engineers started the repair work at Beck Side Farm.

At around 7.20pm United Utilities finished repairing the leaking pipe and have said that the water should be starting to flow normally again.

A spokesman from United Utilities said: "It may take up to two hours for the water pressure to return to normal levels.

"We’re sorry if this has affected you and thank you for your patience. Because there’s been some disturbance to the pipes in your area you may notice the water is a little cloudy or discoloured, please check our Discoloured Water page for more information."
