FIREFIGHTERS have reminded homeowners to get their chimneys swept regularly after they were called to a house fire in Broughton.
The on-call crew from Broughton was tasked to the house in Church Street after a fire started in the chimney. The crew requested the assistance of Barrow's aerial ladder platform just before 9pm to assist in putting out the fire.
Crews returned to their stations at just after 11pm. Firefighters said homeowners should ensure their chimneys are swept twice a year.
