COASTGUARD crews and the Air Ambulance were called out after a walker was injured on a Furness coastal path.
Around 2.42pm on Thursday reports came through that a walker had sustained a serious head injury on the beach near Conishead Priory.
Several emergency services were called out including the North West Air Ambulance, Ulverston Inshore Rescue, Furness Coastguard and the North West Ambulance Service.
The casualty was stabilised at the site, and was then transported to Furness General Hospital.
