AN Ulverston benefit fraudster who been wrongly claiming Jobseekers Allowance has appeared in court.
Roger May, of Larch Grove, indicated a plea of guilty when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court in Barrow on January 10.
Between February, 25, 2015 and July 19, 2015, the 40-year-old had failed to tell the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) that his wife was in employment.
May also made a false statement to the DWP on November 17, 2015.
Magistrates made a community order and May must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and was ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £85.
