THE Ulverston Beer Festival is already proving a roaring success, with keen punters patiently waiting in one-in one-out queues to attend the well-loved annual event.
The queue was moving nice and quickly last night (September 1) despite the obvious popularity of the evening. The festivities continue today, from noon until 10pm.
Dave Stubbins, chairman of Furness Camra, said: "We're getting the hang of it and preparations have gone extremely well.
"We managed to open a few hours earlier than normal this year and so far it's been a great success.
"We're absolutely thrilled to bring it back and we always look forward to it.
"We've been experimenting this year and we've got quite a few choices."
The festival has been showcasing 80 beers as well as 20 ciders and perries. There will also be live music this evening (September 2).
