A 53-YEAR-OLD woman from Ulverston who threw a deck chair at her partner has been handed a 12-month community order.

Tracey Murthwaite, of Kirk Flatt, Great Uswick, was sentenced yesterday after pleaded guilty to assaulting Simon Raisbeck at Furness Magistrates' Court on October 11.

The court heard that Murthwaite beat him on June 23 causing injuries to his arm and leg and also threw Mr Raisbeck's mobile phone.

She has been ordered to pay £400 in compensation towards the victim as well as a victim surcharge of £85. Murthwaite was also given a seven-week curfew meaning she must stay at her home address between 8pm and 6am.
