AN Ulverston teacher took on the toughest assault course on television last night.
Ady Pierce, a PE teacher at Ulverston Victoria High School, was put through his paces as a contestant on the hit game show, Ninja Warrior UK .
Millions of ITV viewers watched as Ady scaled the pipe climber challenge but he was disqualified for touching a metal chain while manoeuvring between the obstacles.
In his VT introduction, Mr Pierce said: "I'm going to attack fast and finish proud."
Commentating in the Manchester arena, presenter Ben Shephard said: "This Cumbrian school teacher has been expelled - that wasn't in the plan."
Ady isn't the first person from south Cumbria to bid to win Ninja Warrior UK . Last year, Bootle farmer Steven Fell also took part in the show but didn't advance beyond the first stage.
