ON-STREET advertising could be subject to new regulation after the issue was raised at a town council meeting.
Ulverston town councillors discussed the possibility of controlling the number of advertising A-boards on the pavement.
Residents had approached several council members raising concern about the increasing clutter on the streets, and the potential hazards they caused.
Cllr Colin Pickthall said: "There is nothing wrong with A-boards, I think we want to come up with a policy that we could give out to traders in town."
The council have agreed to consult with business owners in town before any formal policy on street furniture is drawn up.
