A REVELLER who struck a police officer after being ejected from a pub has been given a community order.
PC McGeough suffered a facial injury above his right eye after being hit by Christopher Thompson who was on a night out in Ulverston on New Year's Eve.
The 27-year-old, of Lindal Moor Cottages, Lindal, pleaded guilty at Furness Magistrates' Court on Tuesday to being drunk and disorderly in a public place and assaulting a constable.
He was handed a four-week curfew, which requires him to remain indoors between 8pm and 6am, and ordered to pay PC McGeough £150 in compensation.
Thompson must also pay £85 in court costs and a fine of £150.
