AN Ulverston landmark will be lit up green over the festive period to highlight the work of the Samaritans.
The Hoad monument will turn green for the charity to remind people of the support they can offer over Christmas and New Year.
The local group says this time of the year can be a difficult and stressful time for some, with people worrying about money, missing someone they've lost or feeling lonely.
Anyone in distress can talk to the Samaritans any time they like on any day of the year about whatever is getting to them by ringing the free number on 116 123.
The Barrow, Furness and South Lakes branch can also be contacted via email at jo@samaritans.org.
