A TOWN'S festival welcomed the county's finest food and drink before torrential rain brought the day to an abrupt halt.
Taste Cumbria Ulverston took to the streets today as they showed off the best of Cumbria's offerings.
Hundreds turned out to sample the goods and see the stalls, before thunderstorms sent them running for cover
While much of the day had enjoyed warm weather and sunshine, the torrential rain brought proceedings to an end fifteen minutes earlier than the planned 4pm finish.
The festival hosted a traders market throughout Market Street, Brogden Street, New Market Street and Cross Street, bringing together more than 50 stalls from across Cumbria selling the best home-grown produce on offer.
There were also hourly demonstrations on the Demo Stage on Brogden Street, as well as plenty of family fun at the Ford Park stall nearby.
The festival will continue today.
