AN awareness day for families affected by dementia is set to be held in Ulverston later this week.

On Thursday, Ulverston Dementia Action Alliance will be at the Coronation Hall in support of locals living with the disease.

Information will be on hand for families on what help is out there, for both people with dementia, or their relatives or carers.

The event will begin at 10am where people can find out what services are available from 12 local providers.

There will be a talk on what support is offered at Furness General Hospital, as well as information on how members of the public can become dementia friends.

The event will run until 1pm. Anyone who would like more information should contact Janette Jenkinson at jejenky@aol.com.
