AN Ulverston-based artist is to put on a show of his works at Ford Park.

A former teacher at UVHS and the John Ruskin School at Coniston, artist David Macaulay has long been part of the area's artistic community.

A member of the Lake Artists' Society, Mr Macaulay uses a variety of mediums to interpret the breathtaking landscape of the Lake District.

Whether it is using delicate graphite or pastel when drawing outdoors, or the use of oils for larger, indoor pieces, Mr Macaulay devotes all of his energy to his art.

Mr Macaulay fondly remembers Ford Part from his teaching days, he said: "A few of the staff would come up to the house for coffee at lunchtimes and, in summer, would sit and relax on the lawns. Happy times!"

The art exhibition will be running at the Coach House in Ford Part from Sunday September 4 to Saturday October 29.
