THREE fire engines from Ulverston and Kendal were called out to reports of a person in the waters of Coniston yesterday afternoon (Friday September 1).
The emergency services received the call just after 5.30pm and fire service swift water technicians attended. They helped mountain rescue volunteers retrieve a casualty using the fire rescue boat.
The casualty was passed to the care of paramedics and transported to hospital by ambulance.
