CARNIVAL fever hits Ulverston this weekend, and to celebrate we take a look at the event through the decades.

Ulverston Hospice Carnival takes place this Saturday. The day, organised by St Mary's Hospice, will have a Rio Carnival flavour this year in fitting with the upcoming Rio Olympics this summer.

Costume and dance and carnival queens have been a feature throughout the years.

Are you one of the dancing Robins pictured at Ulverston Carnival in 1987?

Also back in 1987 we photographed town crier Alf Jarvis with Heather Chamberlain, Helen Hallatt and Sue Fletcher.

Maybe you can spot yourself in this busy crowd shot from carnival day 1994?

In 1990, the Kelly sisters Nicola, Leanne and Jemma tucked into candy floss. Alice in Wonderland characters Tweedledum (Mathew Warwick) and Tweedledee (Paul Wilcox) had a great carnival day in the summer of 1992. They were joined in the picture by Croftlands Princess Kelly Nelson.

Let us know if you feature in any of our nostalgia photos today through our Facebook page or at nwemail.co.uk
