A TOP A Level achiever has been granted a place at one of the highest rated universities in the world.

Bobby Taylor, 18, from Ulverston Victoria High School, received an A* and three A's which secured his place at Oxford University where he will read law.

Staff at the school have praised Mr Taylor for his results and Richard Butler MBE, assistant head teacher at the school said he is incredibly proud Mr Taylor will be heading to the esteemed university.

The future law student said: "I'm really happy, I originally wanted to do engineering but then applied for law. It's been a lot of work.

"I had to listen to a lot of energetic music while revising, I couldn't listen to anything slow, it had to be fast to keep me awake.

"I did a lot of past papers and focused really hard on revising as much as possible."
