A DRIVER was rescued from an overturned car after a collision in Ulverston.

Crews from Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service used specialist equipment to release a man from the vehicle at the scene between Rake Lane and Oakwood Drive.

The North West Ambulance Service, a North West Air Ambulance crew and Cumbria Police also attended the scene.

Cumbria Police said the driver of an Audi car was taken to Furness General Hospital in Barrow by land ambulance with minor injuries.

Police said two parked cars, a Hyundai and a Vauxhall, were hit during the collision. Emergency services were called to the scene just before 1pm.

The A5087 Priory Road was in both directions put was re-opened from around 3.30pm.
