TRAFFIC flow has returned to normal on the A590 after an earlier four-vehicle crash.

This afternoon motorists faced diversions and then five mile tailbacks after the crash at Rusland Pool.

The collision took place before 2.45pm.

Police said there are not understood to be serious injuries as a result of the crash. They said one person was taken to Furness General Hospital in Barrow with minor injuries.

Police said the cars involved were a Ford Fiesta, a Mazda and Audi A4 and a Ford Transit van.

When the crash first happened motorists heading to Barrow were being diverted towards Coniston and the Lakes before heading back down at Greenodd or Ulverston.
