A COSMETICS thief who targeted Boots stores including one in Ulverston has been locked up for six months after being caught in the act on CCTV.
Karen Rose House pleaded guilty to four counts of theft when she appeared at Furness Magistrates' Court in Barrow on Tuesday.
The 40-year-old had entered Boots stores in Ulverston and Ambleside on April 7, May 18 and July 20 of this year and stole a large number of high-value cosmetics worth a total of £3,371.14.
House, of Stanks Drive in Leeds, was charged after police released CCTV from Boots in Ambleside following the theft of make-up worth £1,360 on May 18.
House was jailed for a total of 26 weeks and must pay a victim surcharge of £115.
The persistent offender was not ordered to pay compensation because of the custodial sentence and because of her inability to pay.
