AERIAL photos have revealed the scale of the work that is going into an emergency hub billed as the first of its kind in the county.
In February ground was broken just outside of Ulverston for a Blue Light Hub - a unified centre for emergency services in the area.
These incredible photographs illustrate just how quickly the plan to build the multi-million pound site has come along in just over a month.
The work will create a new £4.6m central base for the police, fire brigade and ambulance services in the South Lakes, covering roughly 6,000 people.
It will be the first dedicated building of its kind constructed in Cumbria.
At the groundbreaking Sergeant Rupert Johnston, of Cumbria police, said: "This multi-service hub is an exciting development for Ulverston and the surrounding area."
In the coming weeks work will expand as access roads to the hub are built. Measures are in place to reduce the amount of disruption caused by the work and temporary traffic lights with not be installed where possible.
There is a restriction at the Daltongate junction, where there will be no right turn onto the A590.
Work at the junction is expected to conclude by October.
