A RUNNING reverend who gained fame after a Herculean feat of endurance is set to move on to pastures new.

The Reverend Matthew Keddilty, 38, curate at Ulverston Parish Church, has resigned from his position, effective from November 5.

He will move on to the diocese of Durham to serve as the vicar in the benefice of Bishop Auckland.

His last Sunday in the parish will be on October 22.

Earlier in September Mr Keddilty set out to complete the Cumbria Way Ultra running from Ulverston to Carlisle in one day.

He decided to undertake this challenge to raise money for diabetes research following his daughter's diagnosis with the condition.
