MODEL race car drivers are firing on all cylinders following the inaugural race around their new outdoor track.
The Ulverston Radio Car Club is pushing for bigger and better things after recently expanding their operation outdoors.
Usually races are restricted to inside the Glaxo Sports Centre but now they will be able to race in the open air following construction of a new track and grandstand.
Paul Westwell, vice-chairman of the club, said: "We've had a couple of meetings and the feedback is that it's unbelievable."
The new outdoor track is made of AstroTurf, the most sought after surface for racers to drive on.
Mr Westwell thanked everyone who helped to make the club's dream of a new track a reality.
He said: "I'd like to thank Wood Group, Leck Construction, Cumbria Roofing, Schofield Construction, Travel the Globe, and Irv's Restos."
