AN incident at the Leven Viaduct last night prompted an urgent response from the emergency services.

At 8.17pm on Tuesday August 8 police responded to a concern for a person's welfare at the bridge near Plumpton.

A police spokesman confirmed officers were sent to the scene after the man made threats to jump.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing at least five police vehicles racing along the A590 around 8.30pm, followed by at least one ambulance.

The incident was resolved at the viaduct and the man was taken into the care of medical staff.
