In a letter sent to the Evening Mail, Mavis Nelson, secretary of the Residents of Mill Dam and Soutergate Sheltered Accommodation, has pleaded with whoever took the television set.
In her letter, Mrs Nelson wrote: "Between the hours of 5pm on Monday June 5 and 6am on Tuesday June 6, a person or persons removed a television set from the communal lounge of Mill Dam and Soutergate Sheltered Accommodation in Ulverston.
"This television had been donated to the residents by the family of a former resident and was used for the entertainment of residents, i.e. watching videos etc. in a communal setting.
"The TV make is Digital Home and it has a 42-inch screen; its number is 627278 and was bought on January 15 2016.
"We, the residents, would be grateful for the return of our television, as quickly, quietly and efficiently as it was taken."
