A CELEBRATION of the people of Ulverston and the surrounding villages, is celebrating its fourth year.

The Heart of Ulverston Awards are returning for 2016 to shine a light on the unsung heroes of Ulverston and the surrounding villages.

Anybody can nominate someone they feel went the extra mile for their community.

With categories as diverse as employee of the year, community group of the year and the courage award, people from all walks of life can be recognised.
Nominations are still open for this year's award ceremony, and it is very easy to do.
