A MOTORIST from Askam collided with a petrol pump when police asked him to get out of the car, a court heard.
Timothy Jason Baker attended Furness Magistrates’ Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis on Tuesday.
The court heard Baker, 25, was parked at the Shell Ulverston for 10 minutes and was seen with a red balloon used for laughing gas.
Prosecutor, Mr Lee Dacre, said police approached Baker, of Duke Street, Askam, and he crashed his car into a petrol pump.
Mr Dacre said the consequences could have been “unthinkable”. Police found a nitrous oxide bottle, red balloons and cans of cider in the car.
Defending, Miss Karen Templeton said Baker is trying to deal with alcohol problems. He had not been drinking at that time, she said.
Baker was remanded in custody to appear in court on November 3.
