Initial repairs to dry stone walls dating back centuries on the way to a town's most famous monument have been carried out.
The walls along the footpath from Chittery Lane, Ulverston, to Hoad and the Sir John Barrow Monument have been badly damaged for some time. Repairs were carried out by members of the Ulverston Civic Society, in partnership with the Cumbria branch of the Dry Stone Walling Association.
Parts of the wall had to be taken down to ground level in order to stabilise it, with more than 21 metres of wall ready for further repairs.
Collections were also made over the two-day event, with £70 raised for the Air Ambulance.
