A MAN from Barrow who was arrested on suspicion of spraying customers with a noxious substance in a wine bar in Ulverston has been released under active investigations.

The 23-year-old was arrested on Friday night on suspicion of administering a noxious substance with intent to aggrieve or annoy at Avanti Capitola, Ulverston.

Staff at the bar called police around 10.30pm on Friday reporting a man to be inside spraying customers with a suspected pepper spray causing several to be evacuated.

No-one was seriously hurt during the incident and if the police have not been able to speak to all those affected then call 101.
