A CONSCIENTIOUS resident has called on the rightful owner of a £10 note to come forwards and claim their lost tenner.
Melissa Dixon was walking her dog on Tuesday morning in the Ulverston area when she came across the banknote.
Keen to return it to its rightful owner, she has called for whoever believes it is theirs to come forwards and claim it by confirming where the note was misplaced.
She said on Tuesday: "I was just out with the dog this morning at 7.25am and found this lying in the grass. Ulverston area.
"If you or your child have lost £10 and can tell me where you lost it, I will gladly return to its rightful owner. Please spread the word."
If the owner of the £10 cannot be traced then it will be donated to a charity.
Anyone who believes the note is theirs can email amy.fenton@nwemail.co.uk or call 01229 840161.
