TORRENTIAL rain won't stop visitors enjoying a farming extravagnza today.

South Cumbria woke to pouring rain and grey skies this morning, but the Ulverston and North Lonsdale show is set to go ahead as planned, organisers confirm.

While visitors are advised to take waterproofs and wellies, the Met Office forecast predicts the rain will stop around 12pm, with guests enjoying sun later this afternoon.

In the first week of the summer holidays, the show will host a range of attractions, displays, stalls and livestock and horiculture exhibits.

A free bus service will be running to and from the event with the following services:

10:30am Ramsden Square, Barrow, picking up at Coronation Gardens, The White House, The Strawberry and Tudor Square, Dalton and to the show field. 10:30am - The Kiosk, Ulverston to the show field. Both buses will make return journeys at 4.30pm.

Additionally there will be a free shuttle running between The Kiosk, Ulverston and the show field all day from 11.30am.
