THE grandmother of a violent Barrow teenager has asked a court to discharge a restraining order preventing him from contacting her after he attacked her.
Jack Daniel Frederick Beale, 19, pleaded guilty to assault by beating at Furness Magistrates' Court in August after he threw a trainer at his grandmother and then trapped her in the toilet with a chair at her Ulverston home on July 3.
Beale also threatened that he would make her "eat a chair" and told her that he had scissors. He was sentenced to eight weeks in custody as well as a 12-month exclusion order and ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

At the same court yesterday, Beale's grandmother Paula Whittall made an application for the restraining order to be removed.
The reasons given to the court for the removal of the restraining order were that Beale was in need of help with mental health issues and would be homeless if he couldn't stop at his grandmother's house.
Magistrates allowed the restraining order to be discharged.
