THE proud facade of one of Ulverston's most well-known buildings has been hidden away beneath a web of scaffolding.
For just over a week at the Coronation Hall a steel frame has slowly crept over the building in anticipation of renovation work.
In coming weeks more than £50,000 worth of work will take place to renovate the exterior of the hall which has started to succumb to the elements.
The front of the building as well as the side which borders the A590 will soon be repainted once the scaffolding is complete.
Community groups and benefactors banded together to raise the substantial sum.
The hall will remain fully open to the public throughout the duration of the refurbishment which is expected to finish by the end of August.
Charlie Rowley, CEO of Ulverston Community Enterprises, said: "Ulverston is tremendously fortunate in having such a beautiful building right in the heart of the town and the facelift for the frontage will act as perfect curtain-raiser to the exciting autumn and winter season of events."
