FIREFIGHTERS rescued six people from an Ulverston building last night as part of a training exercise.
Crews attended GlaxoSmithKline's biopharmaceutical plant in Ulverston at 7pm as part of an exercise in which numerous people were trapped inside the building and needed rescuing.
Crew Manager Simon Roger said: "We were dealing with a situation in a laboratory where six people were confirmed missing.

"We used six breathing apparatuses, two hose reel jets and our main brief was to extinguish the fire and conduct a search and rescue operation.
"All persons were rescued and it was a good exercise."
Two pumps from Ulverston, one pump from Grange and one resilience pump from Barrow were used to help them complete their brief.
Crews left the scene at approximately 9:30pm last night.
