ELECTRICITY work being undertaken at the A590 in Lindal could cause three days of disruption on the road.

Throughout the day motorists reported long queues of traffic trailing back from the Lindal Dip.

It was a grim reminder for motorists who had suffered through weeks of disruption when the road was being raised throughout February and March.

A spokesman from Highways England said: "Electricity North West are carrying out work to connect power cables to the new lighting columns on the A590 near Lindal in Furness."

Three days have been set aside for the work to be completed, however, the spokesman said the job should be completed by Friday afternoon.

They continued: "Electricity North West expect the work to take a maximum of three days, however work is currently scheduled to finish tomorrow afternoon.

"Temporary traffic lights are in operation during the day, out of peak traffic times and these will be removed by 3.30pm each day. The lights will be monitored to manage any queues."
