AN elderly man and his dog had to be cut free from a car after a crash in South Cumbria.
Fire crews from Ulverston were called to Spark Bridge just after 12.30pm today. A man in his 80s and his dog were trapped inside a Vauxhall Agila on its side following a crash.
The man, who is understood to be local, was released from the car and flown by the North West Air Ambulance to Furness General Hospital with injuries that were described by firefighters as non life-threatening. The dog, a Border Collie, was uninjured and was taken away by a nearby resident.
