THE wife of a disabled pensioner has launched a heartfelt plea for members of the public to help fund an operation for his beloved labrador.

Bev Powell has set up a Go Fund Me page to help raise money to pay the £3,000 vet bills for Toby, a black labrador who is in urgent need of a scan and surgery.

In her story, Mrs Powell, from Ulverston, said: "Toby is a beautiful five-year-old boy.

"He is a companion for my disabled husband and is his world.

"Toby has injured his left front elbow and needs an orthopaedic referral, scan and surgery to get him back on his feet to be able to be pain free.

"He is insured but it will not cover the cost of his surgery. My husband is devastated, so am I, and is now also housebound.

"My husband is partially sighted, deaf and has COPD. Please can anyone help Toby and my husband get their quality of life back?"
