A FUNDRAISING concert is being held to raise money to buy a student a new wheelchair.

The Braddyll Friends singers will be performing an evening of a cappella songs at the Laurel and Hardy Museum this Thursday, November 17 in Ulverston.

The money raised from the event will go to buying a new chair for 18-year-old Adam Lenartowicz, an Ulverston 6th Form student who has cerebral palsy.

There will also be readings of poetry performed by visiting guest artists.

Mr Lenartowicz's condition means he does not have speech, but with the help of a new chair, he will fulfil his dream of going to university to study maths next September.

The wheelchair will have a communication aid, as well as being rugged enough for Mr Lenartowicz to take into the Lakes, as well as withstand the rigours of university life.

The concert will start at 7.30pm, and entry is via donation. There is a Just Giving page to support Adam found at justgiving.com/crowdfunding/adamsequipment
