THOUSANDS of pounds have been raised by a south Cumbrian branch of a children's charity.
Save the Children, in Ulverston, has reported that it has been able to send £2,200 of locally collected money to its London headquarters. The money was raised from donations, legacies and fundraising activities.
The charity also announced that following a door-to-door collection at the end of June, a further £902 was raised.
