ON A-level results day we spoke to some of the relieved students who had made it over one of life's great hurdles.
We asked just how they managed to make it through the hours of revision they toiled through, and what pearls of wisdom they would pass on to the next generation of students.

"Unexpected, happy, and optimistic."
What was on your revision playlist?
"Nothing! If I listen to music I just can't!"
What advice would you give to next year's students?
"Start revising early and make good use of your first year."
Alex Bloom - medicine, UCL
Describe your results in three words.
"Very very happy."
What was on your revision playlist?
" Cold Cold Cold by Cage the Elephant."
What advice would you give to next year's students?
"Try and enjoy your time here, and when the time comes make sure you do revision."
Josie Gugeon, Costume with Textiles, Huddersfield University
Describe your results in three words.
"Over the moon."
What was one your revision playlist?
"It was films I watched, not music. I'd put on a film in the background."
What advice would you give to next year's students?
"Enjoy it and try hard but enjoy the time here while you can."
