ACTION is being taken to try and stop illegal tree fellers who are targeting a woodland beauty spot.

A number of trees in Sea Wood near Bardsea have been chopped down illegally in recent weeks and police say any unauthorised person seen removing wood from the area is committing an offence.

The Woodland Trust own Sea Wood and the trust has a policy of leaving fallen trees in situ to maintain the natural habitat.

Any suspicious activity seen in the area should be reported to police via 101.
