POLICE are investigating after a member of public reported a car almost collided with a child in Ulverston.

A silver Vauxhall, believed to be a Tigra with a partial registration of MM07, has been reported as being driven without due care and attention on the A590 at the Prince's Street junction.

The incident happened on Wednesday at approximately 8.30am.

A member of public reported that a child between 10 and 12-years-old could have been hit by the car.

Police want to identify the child and any other witnesses.
