PRETTY: The mural before it was vandalised

TO the mindless, heartless, misguided person responsible for the desecration (graffiti) of the playground mural lovingly designed and painted by the youth of Swarthmoor.

Although confined to a wheelchair, I enjoyed the opportunity to get involved with the teenagers.

The Brownies enjoyed their input, painting pretty flowers (in the pouring rain.)

The mural was the brainchild of the local PCSO, Helen Madden, who worked tirelessly to raise the funds. Helen worked many hours of her own time to give the teenagers something to occupy their time with.

She has a great affinity with the youth of Swarthmoor, helping and advising on many issues.

If the person responsible did this out of jealousy, they have only themselves to blame as everyone was invited to join the art group.

I hope you regret what you have done and come and join in the next project.
