Fined for no insurance

A MAN was fined £250 at Furness Magistrates’ Court after pleading guilty to driving with no insurance.

John Trevor Berry, 52, of Birkett Hill, Bowness, admitted driving a Jaguar on the A590 County Road in Ulverston without insurance on September 22.

Berry told the court that he had been using his mother’s address as a mailing address.

The insurance had been cancelled and a letter was sent to his mother’s house but he didn’t get it.

He said he had been driving for 30 years and had sorted his insurance out immediately after he was stopped by police.

Presiding magistrate Mrs Lesley Morgan fined Berry £250 and ordered him to pay £35 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
