AN Ulverston family scooped prestigious prizes with their ponies at a county show in Carlisle.

Two Fell ponies owned by the Williamson family took top honours at Cumberland County Show.
Home-bred mare Tarnbeck Shamrock won the Fell Pony Championship with handler Ieuan Jones. The award was The Silver Challenge Salver.
The pony had won the broodmare class and her foal Tarnbeck Noble Spirit was second in the foal class.
Townend Ruffle, also from the stud, won the Supreme Native Championship with Judith Williamson in the saddle. The prize was The Cumberland Agricultural Society Cup.
The pair also won the Fell Pony Ridden class and the NPS Silver Medal Rosette for the Best Ridden Native.
