Crowds flock to enjoy 999 fun day

MORE than 1,000 people turned out to support Ulverston Inshore Rescue at the weekend.

The cash will go towards the service’s funds and help repair the base’s vital equipment.
Visitors were also treated to hovercraft rides, stalls and a tug of war event.
Station officer Bruce Chattaway said: “It was a really good day. We had 1,100 people come through the door.
“The amount of money we raised was great, every little helps.
“Hopefully next year there will be more to see. It is going to get bigger and better.”
