Last updated at 16:19, Tuesday, 26 February 2013
TRIBUTES have been paid to a devoted dad who died in a fatal accident on the M6 yesterday.
Michael Raymond Proctor, 22, of Salisbury Street, Southport was driving a blue flat lorry yesterday morning when, at around 8.15am, it was involved in an eight vehicle collision between junctions 35 and 36 on the M6.
Today police named the driver of the SPAR lorry who died in the collision as Alan Walmsley, 62, of Mardale Road, Longridge, Preston.
A spokesperson said on behalf of Mr Proctor’s family: “Mike was a loving, caring son and brother and was devoted to his baby son, Tyler.
“All Mike ever wanted to be was a wagon driver like his Dad. There is now a space in our lives that can never be filled.
“Mike leaves behind his parents, Tony and Debbie, sister Jenny and son Tyler.”
