Trial date for Millom PCSO

A POLICE community support officer is to stand trial accused of assaulting a woman in a nightclub.

Millom PCSO Lorna Marie Brookes appeared before Furness Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The 26-year-old, of Settle Street, Millom, denied assaulting Caroline Leonard in Reflections, in St George’s Terrace, on February 17.

She will stand trial at Furness Magistrates’ Court on May 8.

Brookes, who was represented by defence solicitor Ms Kath McAteer, was granted bail until that date on the condition she does not contact Ms Leonard, Yvette Haston and Samantha Sharpe in any way, including contact using social media.

She must also not enter Reflections or the Workies, which adjoins the premises where the assault is alleged to have happened.
